Project Description:	Construction of a new 4 storey extra care sheltered housing scheme comprising 80 one and two bedroom extra care apartments, associated communal areas, biomass energy centre and external works.
Services Provided by ESDP:	Mechanical and Electrical Advisory role to the Employer. Review of Contractor’s design proposals, site inspections and witnessing of testing and commissioning.
Design Features:	The extra care scheme formed part of the Northfield Village development which included a Community Hub, specialist dementia care facility, GP surgery, Pharmacy, general needs housing and a Biomass energy centre. Heating and domestic hot water for the extra care was provided from the remote energy centre via district heating mains. The scheme included radiator heating circuits, local extract ventilation, centralised domestic hot water generation, dry risers, automatic controls, lifts, lighting and emergency lighting systems, warden call and access control, small power, fire alarms and lightning protection.
