Project Description: |
The project comprised the extension of an existing industrial building to form a new Training & Assessment Academy for Worcester Bosch and Buderus products. The new facility incorporates commercial boiler, domestic appliance and solar technology training rooms, domestic and commercial ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) rooms, seminar rooms, reception, ancillary rooms and an external plant training area.
The solar technology training room lies at the heart of the facility, providing 5 separate training bays containing fifteen different domestic and commercial system types. Some of the demonstration solar rigs are linked to working panels mounted on the external roof of the building, while other solar rigs are linked to solar panels mounted on the demonstration pitched roof over the training bays.
The training and assessment rooms contain robust gas safety systems, which do not allow gas supplies to activate until ventilation systems are operational and the integrity of the gas pipework has been proven. Flue gases removed by flue dilution systems in areas where direct flue discharge to outside is not possible.
Gas absorption heat pumps, CHP and photovoltaic installations are included within the centre, with generated energy from the CHP and PV making a significant contribution to electrical energy usage. |
