Energy Assessor and Mechanical Design Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for an Energy Assessor & Mechanical Design Engineer (Combined Role). The successful applicant will have a balanced role split between mechanical design and energy modeling work on a variety of different projects.  The energy modeling will include Environmental Performance Analysis, Building Regulations compliance checks and generation of EPC’s for commercial projects.

Experience and the ability to carry out design, co-ordination and site inspection duties on projects from beginning to end is essential, in addition to performing the role of an Energy Assessor. The ability to organise, prioritise and work concurrently on more than one project also needs to be demonstrated.

Candidates should be able to promote excellent interactive personal and team working relationships both within our Company and with outside organisations, including Clients, fellow professionals and Contractors.

The role will involve detailed site inspections and survey duties.  The ability to produce technical reports and assessments in conjunction with these duties also needs to be demonstrated.

The ability to use industry recognized energy modelling software is a requirement and proficiency and experience in the use of IES Virtual Environment software would be an advantage. Experience in the use of AutoCAD and BIM (Revit) would also be of benefit.

The successful applicant would work with guidance from our Accredited Low Carbon Energy Assessor, and closely with Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineers, Senior Engineers, Associates and Directors within the Company.

You are required to be degree qualified with a minimum of three years post qualification design experience in the construction industry.

A wide experience in all aspects of Building Services Mechanical Engineering is desirable. Continued Personal Development and training, both educationally and professionally, would be encouraged for the successful applicant in order to develop further skills and knowledge.  The role will include undertaking training, study and examinations leading to qualification as a Level 5 Low Carbon Energy Assessor.
